Algarve
Typeface
Algarve is a custom, all-caps, display typeface inspired by the lettering on hand-painted tile street signs in Portugal. I instantly felt a connection to the streets of Lisbon and Porto when visiting, and was inspired to design my own typeface in this style. The letters have a mixture of subtle and exaggerated serifs, to mimic a handwritten effect. Each letter also has a 'heavy' and 'thin' side, once again inspired by the strokes of a paint brush.
